Second Last Horse Riding Week

This week we are having our second last horse riding week at ingliston Equestrian Centre. The children are in groups learning to trot and canter and also the art of using rugs and bandages in the care of the beautiful horses here. We are all disappointed that we have only one more week here. :)

Secondary Sport Relief

Today in P.E the children in S3-5 ran 3 miles to raise money for the BBC Sport Relief appeal. We ran from the school, along te esplande and finished with a well earned rest at the bookshop! Well done guys, some great running - Daniel, Alexander, Iain and Craig came home first with Ailie as the first girl. The picture is of the boys cooling off at the bookshop after the run.

Ken Cunningham

We were very fortunate to have Ken Cunningham working with us on Wednesday this week.

Ken is the General Secretary of SLS and was working with us to review and evaluate some of our existing practice. He also gave us some advice on possible ways to further develop, extend and improve the school. It was very informative and worthwhile.

Horse Riding Day 1

Today s2 are horse riding as part of our Broader Curriculum afternoons. We have taken an excellent opportunity at Ingliston Equestrian Centre near Bishopton and are have a two hour lesson every Wednesday for the next 5 weeks. The children are split into two groups and each group has an hour riding and an hour if stable management. Ingliston is a renowned venue for showjumping and horse riding events so we are delighted to be able to use their wonderful facilities. Here are some pictures of our first week.
