Charities Day

On Thursday 2nd April we had a Charities day in Cedars School for P1 - S5. Susie Hope from the Mercy Ships organisation came and told us of their work in Africa and Kate Copstick, who is the Aunt of Finlay and Lamorna Brown, told us of work she is involved in with children in Kenya. We also had Elspeth Lyons speaking with the primary department about the Scottish Aid to Eastern Europe charity. It was a very interesting and informative day which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the children. Thanks to all who took part!

On the Friday morning we held a Fund raising breakfast in aid of the Mercy Ships work which was provided by "Heather Delicatessen". Pupils and staff alike thoroughly enjoyed a tasty start to the day and we raised over £200! Thanks to everyone for their generous donations and thanks to Mrs Parkinson and the staff at "Heathers Delicatessen" for a delicious breakfast! Kate Copstick also held a fund - raising stall at the Easter service selling crafts made by the children she works with in Kenya.

Well done to P5/6 who raised £145 through their £1 project for Kate Copstick's Charity.
