S1 and S2 had a visit from Lawrence Deary in their RME classes today. Lawrence was born and brought up in Port Glasgow. He came to speak to the pupils about the life he led as a heroin addict, and how, through the work of Teen Challenge, he was able to make a fresh start, completely free from all addiction. Lawrence wad an addict for eight years- it is eight years this month since he became a Christian- he has not touched drugs since then!
This lesson was part of a series of lessons in which pupils are tackling the moral issues faced by today's young generation, as specified in the Curriculum for Excellence.
