Post election analysis

S1 and some of S2 spent time today looking at the results of the election and how to display the data effectively. Nicol suggested using pie charts. We found that pie charts (shown by Jennifer) were useful for showing the share each party got. In particular it was easy to see if the party with the largest share got a majority. However, they weren't useful for analysing detail and comparing the results in different areas. Daria suggested using a bar graph (shown by Euan) to compare the results of the Cedars School election with those of Inverclyde and Scotland. This proved effective for showing the differences in results.

Pupils extended their knowledge of data handling, using spreadsheets and how our political system works!
