60 Glorious Years!

Our theme for assemblies this year is '60 Glorious Years.' As we anticipate the Queen's Golden Jubilee and the Olympics coming to London next summer, we will celebrate some of the people, events, inventions and stories that have made up the Queen's reign.

This week, middle school pupils have heard about World War 2 RAF fighter ace, Douglas Bader:



And primary and senior school pupils have looked at some of the toys and games that were invented during the 1950s and 1960s. We were surprised that some of the things we consider modern have actually been around quite a long time!
